The origins of CONVIVIAL start with:

- a family passionate about being butchers and wanting to promote the excellent produce of their region.

This was why Jean Meunier created Convivial in 1989. As a butcher, like his father, grandfather and great-grandfather before him, he continues using the skills and know-how passed down from eight generations in the trade.

- an innovation : cutting meat into ultra-fine slices:

His knowledge of the butcher's trade and entrepreneurial  spirit pushed Jean Meunier to develop a new way of cutting meat.

With help from the Clermont Ferrand office of the French National Institute for Agricultural Research, Convivial developed a method of cutting meat into ultra-fine slices. The process was patented and led to the creation of the company's flagship product the Charolais Beef Parfait.
